An independent state in the heart of Europe, the Principality of Monaco offers an exceptional location, between mountain and sea, with gardens, athletic and cultural events...all qualities which make it the ideal destination for an unforgettable conference. Ruled for 700 years by the Grimaldi Family Dynasty, Monaco's economy is dynamic, with an attractive fiscal system geared toward international investors attracted by the glamorous lifestyle. The capital of Monaco is Montecarlo.

The history of Monaco itself really started in 1215, when the Genoan family of the Ghibellines laid the first stone of the castle, which is still today the Prince's Palace. To attract new inhabitants, the initial masters of the Rock offered advantageous conditions to newcomers , such as territorial concessions and tax exemption, a tradition which has continued to the present day.

The official language is French, although Italian and English are widely spoken. The traditional Monegasque language, le Monegù, is spoken amongst elders and is taught in all local schools. The currency is Euro. Monegasque coins are used. Based on the latest official census, there are 29,972 inhabitants in the Principality of Monaco of which 5,070 are Monegasque,12,047 are French and 5,000 are Italian, although over 100 nationalities in total are represented.

Benefiting from its ideal geographical location, in the heart of the French Riviera, the Principality of Monaco enjoys very mild winters and remarkably sunny summers, with rainfall less than 60 days per year. With the ski resorts in the Alps being only an hour's drive away, and the Nice-Côte-d'Azur International Airport only 22km away, Monaco's accessibility further confirms it as a top location.
